Summer’s nearly here and with the warmer weather lots of us are looking forward to having some fun in the water.
Shops are again selling temporary and inflatable pools which are great for cooling off. But it’s important to keep safe, and most importantly, keep our loved ones safe.
Too many people drown in New Zealand and sadly, the victims can often be children. It can take just 30 seconds for a child to drown.
For that reason, pools more than 40 centimetres deep are not allowed in Accessible Properties homes.
It’s against the law to have a pool with a water level above 40centimetres unless it is appropriately fenced.
We are committed to safety and so we will be strictly enforcing this legal requirement. There will be no exceptions.
The best way to make sure you are following the regulations is to contact your tenancy manager before purchasing a pool.
Stay safe everyone!
