All Work and Income offices are closed. You can contact them by phone on 0800 559 009 or via the online MyMSD app. Please be patient if your call is not answered immediately – they are very busy.
Employers who are eligible for support receive this payment. The employer then pays the employee. Unless you are an employer, do not apply directly for this payment.
You can apply for a main benefit by contacting 0800 559 009 or via the MyMSD app.
There are NO stand down periods during lock down, meaning once approved you will get paid the following week.
If you the need an IRR assessment due to a drop in income, you should contact MSD and request a rent review.
From 1 April 2020 all main benefits will increase by $25.00 in addition to already announced rate changes (3.09%).
The Winter Energy Payments have been doubled this year and start 1 May 2020 as per normal dates.
