Christmas in a new home - that's the holiday treat for residents of Accessible Properties' new Tauranga development.
Six homes make up the property at 878 Cameron Road, and Accessible Properties has managed to move tenants into all of them in time for the festive season.
The development was opened in October by Associate Housing MInister Kris Faafoi, in a ceremony also attended by National party leader Simon Bridges and local dignitraries, as well as Accessible Properties staff.
One of the new tenants, Raymond (pictured), had watched the construction from his previous accommodation across the road.
"It's a new lease of life," said the former serviceman.
Accessible Properties wants to replace 140 former state homes in Tauranga with more than 400 new townhouses and apartments.
“We think we can make a real difference to this community, which has become one of the most unaffordable places to live in the country,” says Chief Executive Greg Orchard.
