With the announcement of the latest budget, the Community Services Card is being extended to all New Zealanders receiving an accommodation supplement or income related rent subsidy.
The aim is to improve access to affordable, high quality health services for young people and for people in need. The extension of the Community Services Card means that these services are more accessible for those in low income households, which means many of the people in our homes.
The Community Services Card is issued on behalf of the Ministry of Health and can reduce the cost of GP visits, prescription fees, after hour’s doctors’ fees and emergency dental care.
