We’re all ageing. Some of us are a little further down life’s track than others! Whether youth is a distant memory for you or for someone in your whānau, the Bay of Plenty DHB has got some great information and tools to make getting older easier. It’s worth knowing that we can change 80% of how we age. Only 20% is genetic.
The LifeCurve™ app and website helps people understand how they are ageing by looking at their ability to do 19 everyday activities. It follows this up with helpful advice on relevant services and ways to stay active. For example, standing on one leg and then the other for 10-30 seconds each will help improve balance and lessen the likelihood of falls.
The app is free and was developed by ADL Research and Newcastle University in the UK.
